DESCRIPTION:Join the Mattawan Lions Club and community partners for the upcoming Senior Veteran Expo—a free event designed to connect older adults with helpful services\, local programs\, and free giveaways. \nEvent Details:\nDate: Monday\, May 5\, 2025\nTime: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM\nLocation: Antwerp Activity Center\nAddress: 24821 Front Avenue\, Mattawan\, MI 49071 \nThe Van Buren/Cass District Health Department (VBCDHD) will be on-site with the following services: \nFlu and COVID Vaccines\nVaccines will be available to individuals who meet eligibility based on their insurance coverage. Please bring your insurance card. VBCDHD staff will review insurance information on-site. If your plan covers our services\, we can provide your vaccine at the event. If not\, we will refer you to your primary care provider or local pharmacy. \nSenior Project Fresh Program Sign-Ups\nVBCDHD’s Health Promotions team will also be there to promote the Senior Project Fresh program—a seasonal program that provides eligible seniors with coupons to purchase fresh produce at participating farmers markets. Staff will help individuals determine eligibility\, sign up for the program\, and answer any questions. \nTransportation Help:\nIf you need a ride to the event\, call Van Buren Transit at (269) 427-7921 at least two weeks in advance to schedule transportation. \nThis event is free and open to the public—please help us spread the word!
