Michigan renters and homeowners can apply for the Home Heating Credit until Monday, September 30, to help lower their heating bills. Some energy providers also offer a monthly income assistance credit of up to $20.

Eligible residents, including those meeting income requirements, should apply before the deadline. Free tax preparation services are available for individuals earning less than $64,000 annually, those with disabilities, or limited English proficiency.
