Our Emergency Preparedness program, serving both Van Buren and Cass counties, integrates all aspects of Public Health Preparedness. Our mission is to ensure readiness for various public health emergencies among the general public, our agency, and community partners.

We achieve this through thorough planning, training, and coordination, aiming to bolster community resilience and response capabilities in times of unforeseen health crises.

Van Buren/Cass District Health Department Hazard Planning Services

At Van Buren/Cass District Health Department, we offer comprehensive Hazard Planning Services to support you and your loved ones during challenging times. Our range of services ensures your safety and well-being in various emergency situations.

Our Services Include:

  1. All-Hazard Planning: We prepare for all types of emergencies, including disease outbreaks, food-borne illnesses, bioterrorism, and severe weather events.
  2. Hazardous Materials Response Coordination: In collaboration with local emergency planning committees, we coordinate responses to hazardous materials accidents in factories, on roads, or on farms.
  3. 5th District Medical Response Coalition: Our involvement ensures a coordinated medical response during emergencies, bringing together over 80 members from emergency management, hospitals, EMS, public health, and other public service agencies.
  4. Natural Disasters and Severe Weather Education: We provide resources and education from the CDC to help you stay warm and healthy during colder months.
