Immunization Services for Adults

At Van Buren Cass District Health Department we offer all routinely recommended vaccines to people of all ages.
We follow the ACIP (Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices) recommended vaccine schedule for 0-18 years and 19 years and older.

We participate with the MI-AVP Program (Adult Vaccine Program) which offers specific vaccines for high risk populations 19 years and older.

We offer COVID-19 Vaccines, and during the fall season we offer additional community clinics to administer flu vaccinations. Read Van Buren/Cass District Health Department Vaccine Policy Statement.

Call 269.740.4155 to inquire about clinic hours at both our locations. Walk-ins may be accommodated.

Dowagiac Immunization Clinic is open on the first and third Wednesday of the month.

Lawrence Immunization Clinic is open every Thursday.

Need a copy of your immunization record?

If you are 18 years of age and older you may be able to download your State of Michigan immunization record from the Michigan Care Improvement Registry.

Need travel vaccines?

Van Buren/Cass District Health Department does not provide travel vaccines.

MI-AVP Adult Vaccine Program

Adults age 19 and over may qualify for certain vaccines if they meet specific criteria, which includes the following:

  • Have NO insurance coverage for immunizations
  • Have an Unmet Michigan Medicaid Spenddown
  • Have a specific High Risk condition

If you are an Adult that qualifies for MI-AVP vaccine: There is a $23.00 Administration fee per vaccine with a maximum out of pocket of $69.00. If you cannot afford to pay the vaccine administration fee, we will ask you to pay what you can. No one will be denied services, Administration fees will be waived for those who cannot afford.

Privately Insured Adolescents and Adults

The Health Department is an immunization provider for some private insurance companies and can bill those insurance companies directly for services upon verification of coverage.

You MUST provide your insurance information when you call to schedule. Our staff will verify participation with your plan and your coverage levels prior to your appointment.

There is a $23.00 administration fee for each injection given in addition to the cost of the vaccine. You will be responsible for any amount not covered by your insurance policy.
