Emergency Prepardness

Committed to enhancing public health readiness for emergencies in Van Buren and Cass counties.

Preparing for Public Health Emergencies

Through the CDC’s Public Health Emergency Preparedness (PHEP) program, Michigan's 45 local health departments, including Van Buren/Cass, receive funding to strengthen emergency response. Since 2002, local health departments have developed and refined all-hazards response plans to ensure community resilience. With regular support and communication from the Division of Emergency Preparedness and Response (DEPR), we are prepared to address public health emergencies effectively, keeping Van Buren and Cass counties safe.
