Boil Water Advisory Lifted – Village of Decatur

The Village of Decatur is announcing that the Boil Water Advisory issued on January 2, 2026, has been lifted for the affected areas.

Following a water main repair and subsequent testing, the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) has confirmed that the water supply is safe. No coliform bacteria were detected, and all necessary corrective measures have been completed. It is now safe to use tap water for drinking, cooking, and making ice without boiling.

What Residents Should Do

Residents are encouraged to flush household plumbing and appliances now that normal water service has been restored. Proper guidance on flushing your home plumbing is available from EGLE and should be followed to ensure all pipes are clear.
