Children's free vision and hearing screenings from the Van Buren/Cass District Health Department.
Why Screenings Matter:
Early Detection: Identifying hearing and vision problems early supports your child's learning and development.
Required Screenings: Michigan law mandates hearing and vision screenings for preschoolers and before kindergarten.
Free and Convenient: Screenings are free for all children and available at schools, health department offices, and special clinics.

Preschoolers
Michigan's Public Health Code mandates screening for children aged 3 to 5 during preschool.
State law also requires hearing and vision screenings before entering kindergarten.
School Age
Hearing: In kindergarten, 2nd grade, 4th grade, and through referrals.
Vision: In kindergarten, 1st grade, 3rd grade, 5th grade, 7th grade, 9th grade, during driver's training, and through referrals.

No appointment needed. Just stop by one of these local events:
