Michigan Launches Summer EBT to Aid 900,000 Children

This summer, nearly 900,000 Michigan children will benefit from the new Michigan Summer Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) program. The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) is providing eligible families $120 per child to ensure access to healthy food while school is out. This initiative, approved by the USDA and inspired by pandemic measures, aims to combat childhood hunger. Families will receive EBT cards to purchase groceries, ensuring children have nutritious meals throughout the summer.
