Boil Water Advisory Lifted for the Village of Decatur
The Village of Decatur has officially lifted the Boil Water Advisory that was issued on February 6, 2026, following a loss of water pressure in a portion of the drinking water system.
The Village of Decatur, in coordination with the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes & Energy (EGLE), has confirmed that appropriate corrective actions have been completed. Follow-up water sampling shows no presence of coliform bacteria, and the water supply is now safe for normal use.
Residents and businesses may resume using tap water for:
- Drinking
- Cooking
- Making ice
- Brushing teeth
- All other household uses

Now that the advisory has been lifted, residents are encouraged to review the attached guidance for flushing internal plumbing and appliances to ensure water quality throughout their home or business.
