McDonald’s E. coli Outbreak Grows: 75 Infected in 13 States
The E. coli outbreak linked to McDonald’s Quarter Pounders continues to expand, now affecting 75 individuals across 13 states, with cases ranging from September 27 to October 10, 2024. Health officials, including the FDA, CDC, and USDA FSIS, are investigating slivered onions and beef patties as potential sources.
Of those infected, 22 individuals have been hospitalized, with two cases leading to hemolytic uremic syndrome, and one death reported in Colorado. Taylor Farms, supplier of the slivered onions, has issued a voluntary recall of potentially contaminated onions.
