MDARD Releases Guidance on ‘HPAI Risk Reduction Response Order’
In response to the ongoing threat of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI), the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (MDARD) has enacted the “HPAI Risk Reduction Response Order (HRRRO).” Effective May 8, 2024, the order applies statewide to all dairy and commercial poultry facilities. To assist affected producers in meeting the order’s requirements, MDARD has published additional guidance. Stakeholders impacted by the order are encouraged to share comments or inquiries via email at mda-info@michigan.gov.
MDARD remains dedicated to collaborating with local, state, and federal partners to swiftly respond to HPAI reports, curb disease spread, and provide outreach.
Further information, including the order and resources, is available at Michigan.gov/BirdFlu.
