Tips to Avoid Prime Day Scams:
- Dark Patterns:
- Make a shopping list and budget before browsing.
- Confirm all items before purchasing.
- Check return policies carefully.
- Place items in carts instead of using “Buy Now.”

- Bogus Reviews:
- Conduct independent research on products and sellers.
- Check reviews on multiple sites.
- Focus on verified Amazon reviews.
- Phishing Emails and Smishing Texts:
- Verify the sender’s email address.
- Log in directly through Amazon’s official website.
- Avoid replying to suspicious messages or clicking on links.
- Use spam filters and mobile spam-blocking tools.
- Website Spoofing:
- Ensure websites start with “https://” and include “amazon.com.”
- Use tools like Google’s Safe Browsing to verify legitimacy.
- Fake Customer Support:
- Scrutinize unsolicited calls and avoid sharing personal information.
- Report suspicious calls to Amazon and Michigan’s Robocall Crackdown Team.
