Boil Water Advisory – Colonial Acres (Cass County)

Due to a loss of water pressure, there is a risk that your drinking water may be contaminated. Do not drink the water without boiling it first.

What You Should Do

  • Bring water to a rolling boil for at least one minute, then let it cool before using.
  • Alternatively, use bottled water.
  • Use boiled or bottled water for:
    • Drinking
    • Making ice
    • Brushing teeth
    • Washing dishes
    • Preparing food

Boiling kills bacteria and other harmful organisms. Continue using boiled or bottled water until you are told it is safe to drink tap water.

What Happened

A power outage from wind and storms caused a loss of water pressure. The backup generator did not work, which prevented the system from maintaining normal pressure.

What Is Being Done

The water system is taking steps to restore pressure. Once the water pressure is back and testing shows the water is safe, you will be notified that boiling is no longer required.
